Florida man uses fake film agency to lure young girls
November 09, 2015
ORLANDO, Fla. – It's the type of thing that you see in the movies, or the kind of dark story parents tell their children so they won't talk to strangers, and now it's happened for real in Orlando.
Officials recently arrested a man who was trying to lure young girls for
child pornography and sex through a fake film agency.
On Friday, Nov. 6, K. Hernandez Orth, a fake filmmaker, was arrested in Orlando on lewd or lascivious battery and attempted production of child pornography charges, the Orlando Sentinel reports.
According to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, Orth told a talent agency that he was with a company called Candy Land Films and that he was looking for young girls to be recorded while wearing swimsuits.
When the FDLE caught wind of this suspicious request from the fake film company, it had an agent pose as a father of a 14-year-old girl, who proceeded to contact Orth.
When the agent reached the fake film maker, Orth offered him $100 to record the girl in a swimsuit, $200 to record her naked, and $400 to have sex with her.
Orth was soon arrested in a hotel room, NBC 6 reports.
It's unclear as to whether Orth has been successful in luring young girls in the past. If he has successfully managed to record
young girls, or have sex with them, he would likely be facing serious felony charges under Florida law, such as:
- Travelling to meet a minor (felony of the second degree)
- Manufacturing child pornography (felony of the third degree)
- Luring or enticing a child (felony of the third degree)
- Sexual performance by a child (felony of the second degree)
Under Section 847.01357, exploited children's civil remedy, any person who while under 18, was a victim of sexual abuse, including the production of child pornography, has the right to bring an action against the producer, promoter or possessor of such movies, regardless if the victim is now an adult.
